Blackjack is straightforward to learn but endlessly rewarding to master. The goal is simple: beat the dealer by getting closer to 21 — without going over.
Choose your chip value and place a bet in the betting circle before cards are dealt.
You and the dealer each receive two cards. Yours are face up; the dealer has one up, one down (the "hole card").
Add up your card values. Decide whether to hit, stand, double down, or split.
After you act, the dealer reveals their hole card and must hit until reaching 17 or higher.
The hand closest to 21 wins. A tie (push) returns your bet. Blackjack pays 3:2.

Never risk busting a strong hand. Stand regardless of what the dealer shows.
A soft 17 (Ace + 6) is weaker than it looks. Hit or double down to improve.
With 11, you have a great chance of hitting 21. Double — especially vs a weak dealer card.
Splitting Aces gives two shots at 21. Splitting 8s rescues a weak hard 16.
A total of 20 is nearly unbeatable. Don't break it up.
Insurance carries a high house edge. Skip it unless you're card counting.
When the dealer is strong, the risk of standing on a weak hand outweighs busting.
When the dealer is weak, let them bust. Don't take unnecessary risks.
